If Demi Lovato, Selena Gomez and Joe Jonas are part of your Disney Mount Rushmore, then the opening night of Lovato’s It’s Not That Deep tour was your dream come true. When Lovato kicked off her tour in Orlando on Monday, she did so with some help — and support — from a couple of familiar faces.
Lovato brought out Jonas for a nostalgia-inducing performance of “This Is Me” from Camp Rock, in which they starred together. They then launched into “On the Line,” Lovato’s duet with the Jonas Brothers from her 2008 debut album Don’t Forget.
Lovato and Jonas briefly dated in 2010 after filming Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam and have remained supportive of one another. The surprise duet comes less than a year after the Jonas Brothers also brought Lovato on stage to perform their Camp Rock-era hits during the opening night of their Greetings from Your Hometown Tour.
“It was so healing for me too,” Lovato said of reuniting with the Jonas Brothers last year. “We’ve been through so much together — all of us, the Jonas Brothers and I. And it was really, really great to spend time with them. … They just thanked me profusely for flying across the country to perform with them and it was just so thoughtful. I felt so appreciated and it was really healing for us.”
As if an onstage reunion wasn’t enough, Lovato further fueled nostalgia with a TikTok video featuring Jonas. Set to audio from a Keeping Up with the Kardashians promo, it shows Lovato and Jonas backstage, mouthing the phrase, “OK guys, we’re back. Did you miss us? ‘Cause we missed you.” Jonas also posted a video with Lovato, recreating the viral “wait but that’s you” TikTok trend.
Jonas wasn’t the only Disney star that Lovato reunited with on Monday. Lovato had a special fan in the audience: her childhood bestie and Princess Protection Program costar Gomez, marking a long-awaited “Delena” reunion. Fans at the Orlando show spotted Gomez sitting in box seats at the stadium. She later confirmed her attendance on her Instagram story, where she shared a series of photos celebrating Lovato’s opening night.

“I am in tears. @ddlovato - this was hands down one of the best shows. Oh and the VOCALS? Psh blown away,” Gomez wrote alongside a photo of Lovato. The Only Murders in the Building star then shared a photo of herself and Lovato embracing backstage with a single red heart emoji. Gomez also shared a video of herself sporting Lovato’s tour merch — an “It’s Not That Deep” hoodie — as she danced the night away.

Lovato and Gomez go way back. Before dominating the Disney Channel, they met as child actors during an audition for Barney & Friends. They both landed roles — Lovato as Angela and Gomez as Gianna — and became close friends while filming from 2002 to 2004. Gomez had already been starring in The Wizards of Waverly Place when Lovato landed the role of Mitchie Torres in Camp Rock, which catapulted her to teen stardom.
The duo starred in the 2009 film Princess Protection Program together before reportedly drifting apart in 2010, the same year Lovato first checked into rehab. While they’ve reconnected over the years, Monday marked the first time Lovato and Gomez were photographed together in nearly a decade.
“What was beautiful is, Selena and I had a friendship prior to Disney Channel because we were actually on Barney together,” Lovato said during an appearance on the Baby, This is Keke Palmer podcast in March. “So, I felt this safety when I came into the Disney Channel, having a built-in friendship there, already. I’m so grateful for that, and will always be grateful for the friendship that I have and continue to have with her.”
As she leans into her It’s Not That Deep era, Lovato is still making sure that she honors the other phases of her career — and last night’s setlist is proof of that. In addition to playing her newer tracks like “Fast” and “Kiss,” Lovato also wove in beloved bangers, like “Heart Attack,” “Give Your Heart a Break,” “Sorry Not Sorry” and “Really Don’t Care,” before ending with her 2015 party girl anthem, “Cool For The Summer.”
We’re three months into 2026, and millennial Disney Channel fans have already witnessed a few iconic reunions among their favorite stars. In addition to Lovato’s nostalgic opening night, Miley Cyrus famously returned to her Hannah Montana roots last month for the show’s 20th anniversary special — and had an emotional reunion with Gomez, who played rival pop star Mikayla on the show.
Here’s to hoping that more Disney Channel reunions are in the works.
