- *Gen V* was canceled after two seasons on Amazon's Prime Video.

- The news comes as *The Boys* rolls out its final season and prequel *Vought Rising* targets a 2027 premiere.

- Executive producer Eric Kripke suggests *Gen V* characters could continue in "other VCU projects on the horizon."

Bad news for *The Boys* spinoff.

*Gen V*, the college-set offshoot, has been canceled following two seasons.

“While we wish we could keep the party going another season at Godolkin, we’re committed to continuing the *Gen V* characters’ stories in *The Boys* season 5 and other VCU projects on the horizon,” Eric Kripke and Evan Goldberg, executive producers of the Vought Cinematic Universe, said in a joint statement. “You’ll see them again.”

*The Boys* is currently in the midst of rolling out its fifth and final season on Amazon's Prime Video streaming platform, though Kripke and showrunner Michelle Fazekas expressed early interest in continuing *Gen V* beyond the mothership show.

"There's a take for season 3 of *Gen V* that I love. It's really surprising and unexpected, but great and really emotionally grounded. I would love to do it," Kripke, who also showruns *The Boys*, told ** around the season 2 finale in October 2025.

"If the ratings are good enough, they'll give us a season 3," Kripke added. "If they're not good enough, they won't. That's just the business," he continued. "So tell all your friends to tune in and watch *Gen V* and, hopefully, we'll get a season 3."

As of an early April interview, Kripke said he didn't yet know if the college concept would become the new main series. "I think it's too early to say," he said at the time. "These things will organically take their own shape."

Prequel series *Vought Rising*, however, will debut its first season in 2027. That series stars Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash, who return to their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront (a.k.a. Clara Vought/Liberty), two of the earliest supes in the VCU. The setting is 1950s New York at the dawn of the superhero age and has been described by Kripke as "*L.A. Confidential* with superheroes. Maybe grimier. Probably, definitely grimier."

With Paul Grellong as showrunner, *Vought Rising* will also feature Mason Dye as Bombsight, Will Hochman as Torpedo, and Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel.

As for *Gen V*, some of the stars will get at least a smaller goodbye on *The Boys* season 5. Jaz Sinclair and London Thor were spotted in early trailers for later episodes as Marie Moreau and Jordan Li.
