George and Amal Clooney's wedding DJ is sharing new details about their glamorous Italian nuptials.

The actor, 64, and the human rights lawyer, 48, tied the knot in a star-studded affair at the historic Aman Canal Grande hotel in Venice, Italy, in September 2014. Celebrity guests included Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber, Emily Blunt, Bill Murray and Bono.

George and Amal hired DJ Sam Young, the son of renowned celebrity photographer Richard Young, to curate the soundtrack for their wedding celebration. In a new interview with Hello! magazine, Sam reflected on the high-profile gig, describing it as a "lovely weekend in Venice."

He said he spoke to George briefly during the festivities, and the two connected over their passion for music.

"The first thing he actually said to me was that he used to be a DJ before he was an actor," Sam recalled.

"He comes up to me on the first night, and I'd just done the obvious mix of like good times, and then I mixed in Sugar Hill Gang's 'Rapper's Delight,' " he continued. "So he comes up to me, and he's like, 'Oh, I used to do that mix when I was younger. I used to be a DJ before I made it with acting in ER.' "

Added Sam: "And I was just like, 'Oh, cool,' and then we had a little chit chat. 'Rapper's Delight' is George's all-time favorite song."

Sam, who also DJed at Idris and Sabrina Elba's 2019 wedding and Elton John's 60th birthday bash in 2007, said he was surprised by how low-key the movie star was.

"He's a very normal guy when you're with him — there's no airs and graces like, 'Oh, I'm this big Hollywood guy,' " the DJ said. "You can chat to him about pretty much anything."

He said the Jay Kelly star "definitely had a good time" celebrating his nuptials with Amal and his loved ones.

Sam was later invited to the Clooneys' home to DJ one of their Christmas parties. "That was probably a bit more personal than the wedding, and a lot smaller," he said of the event, adding of George, "He's just a really nice guy, very friendly and down-to-earth."

George and Amal, who will celebrate their 12th wedding anniversary this fall, went on to start a family together, welcoming twins Alexander and Ella in 2017.

Over the years, the actor has opened up about their marriage, including recently revealing that he and Amal have "never had an argument."

While speaking with CBS News' Seth Doane for an interview that aired in November 2025, the Wolfs star explained, "Well, when you're younger, you want to be right about everything, you know. 'Don't paint that color on the wall.' "

"And you know, Amal and I — everybody gets ticked off when I say it — but we've never had a fight. We've never had an argument," he continued. "And some of it is because I'm at this point in life where if she wants to paint the wall red, I don't care."

George said getting upset about the small stuff just isn't worth it.

"You get to a point in life where you just go, 'Why would that be a discussion or an argument?' We have a really amazing relationship because we're also so supportive of each other that it's like, I don't care," he told Doane.
