Jimmy Kimmel has an important question for those who still believe Donald Trump is going to make America great again.

During the late-night host's monologue on Monday's episode of *Jimmy Kimmel Live**, *he wondered if the president's followers would have had "enough" after *The* *Wall Street Journal* reported that Trump wants to award himself a congressional Medal of Honor.

"[It] is the highest of all the military honors," Kimmel pointed out during his monologue. "Can you imagine if Trump gave it to himself? Of course you can imagine it, yes. He accepted the Nobel Prize as a gift. What if he puts it around his own neck? Would that be enough for the zombies who still worship him to wake up?"

Kimmel, who has been a frequent critic of Trump's actions throughout his second presidency, then posed the question of whether "fundamentally, can a person give himself an award?" noting, "I think it's impossible."

He went on to take a jab at Trump with another joke: "Trump believes he deserves the Medal of Honor because his plane flew into Iraq on an unlit runway during a first term trip to visit the troops. Well, if that's all it takes, anyone who ever flew into Newark deserves the Medal of Honor!"

Earlier in his monologue, Kimmel brought up Trump's recent comments on the ongoing war in Iran during his 45-minute address at an event aimed at promoting a tax deduction for tipped workers in Las Vegas late last week.

During his speech, Trump claimed that the U.S.-Israeli war on Iran is going "swimmingly" and won't last much longer. "It should be ending pretty soon," he said.

Speaking directly to Trump's claims that Iran had fully opened the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, Kimmel noted that Iran contradicted the president one day later.

"Especially for us who grew up in the '80s, did you ever believe you'd be more likely to believe the ayatollah than the president of the United States?" Kimmel asked his laughing audience. "Or that we'd be hearing the words 'Strait of Hormuz' 12 times a day? Our whole lives, the Strait of Hormuz has been so wide open, we didn't even know it existed. We put Trump in charge and suddenly it's been blocked more times than Melania's bedroom door."

Kimmel continued, "And still, with all of this happening, Trump says the war in Iran is going along swimmingly. Yeah, they're swimming because no one could move their boats anymore!"

The comedian previously ripped into Trump's "tough talk" in regards to the war in Iran, especially when it came to his threats to erase the country earlier in the month. Over Easter, the president took to Truth Social to threaten Iran to "Open the F---in' Strait, you crazy bastards, or you'll be living in Hell."

"Realize this is the same man that was just bitching about losing the Nobel Peace Prize," Kimmel commented at the time. "Now he's threatening a civilization with death. He went from Mahatma Gandhi to General Zod like that."

He later added, "If the president thinks that any of this is going to distract us from the fact that his name appears hundreds of thousands of times in the Trump-Epstein files, he's got another thing coming."
