Natalie Portman reveals pregnancy, expecting third child

Actress Natalie Portman is pregnant with baby No. 3.

The 44-year-old actress, who has starred in movies like the Oscar-winning "Black Swan" and the "Thor" franchise, shared the news in an exclusive interview with Harper's Bazaar published Friday, April 17. This will be her third child and first with her partner, the French music producer Tanguy Destable.

Portman and Destable have been together for a little over a year since March 2025. Portman finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, choreographer Benjamin Millepied, in 2024 after 11 years of marriage.

"Tanguy and I are very excited," Portman told the outlet. "I'm just very grateful. I know it's such a privilege and a miracle."

USA TODAY has reached out to Portman's representatives for comment.

In the same interview, Portman, who is the daughter of a fertility doctor, told the outlet her pregnancy is a reminder of how lucky she is, aware of the challenges that can come with a fertility journey.

"I grew up hearing about how hard it is to get pregnant. I have so many people I love who've had such a hard time with it that I want to be respectful around that as well. It's such a beautiful, joyous thing, and it's also not an easy thing," she said.

Portman, 44, most recently starred in the dark comedy/thriller "The Gallerist" directed by Cathy Yan.

Portman's third child will join her other two kids, son Aleph, 14, and daughter Amalia, 9, whom she shares with Millepied.

According to People, Portman has tried to keep both kids mostly out of the spotlight, with her children encouraging her to take a role in Marvel's "Thor: Love and Thunder."

"I feel like it's the phase of my career where I'm really trying to just impress my kids," Portman told Variety in 2022.
