Princess Kate always looks good in navy. The royal, who has been known to sparkle up a look with some sapphire jewelry, just debuted a new coat dress that looked like it was made for her. And well, it sort of was.

Attending ANZAC (Australian and New Zealand Army Corps) Day commemorations with Princess Anne, Kate stepped out in a head-to-toe deep-blue look that balanced classic royal style cues with a fresh, contemporary energy. The focal point of the ensemble was a new coat dress, crafted with structured shoulders and a fitted silhouette that reached down to the ankles. Statement white lapels added a welcome accent to the otherwise simple double-breasted piece, making it stand out amongst the princess’ plethora of similar styles. She pinned a red poppy to the white.

Kate wore the dress, which appeared to be a custom version of an Alexander McQueen look by Sarah Burton, with a matching Jane Taylor London fascinator hat, DeMellier bag, and heels. For jewelry, she added Princess Diana’s sapphire drop earrings and a coordinating pendant necklace.

Kate headed to London’s Cenotaph for a wreath laying ceremony without her husband, Prince William, or her father-in-law, King Charles III. Instead, she split duties with Princess Anne, who attended the commemorations at Wellington Arch, Hyde Park Corner.

“The service commemorates all Australians and New Zealanders who have lost their lives in conflict and recognizes all those who have served,” the official royal family Instagram account shared. “From Gallipoli to the present day. Honoring all Australians and New Zealanders who have given so much in service on ANZAC Day. Lest we forget.”
