Walton Goggins has a certain charm that's made him a draw on-screen for decades.
Thanks to standout roles on The White Lotus, The Righteous Gemstones and Fallout in recent years, his ever-growing appeal has earned him the coveted "daddy" moniker among internet users, critics and fans alike. It's also a label that the 54-year-old actor has come to accept, knowing it's coming from an authentic place.
"I mean, I don't have a tattoo of 'daddy' — but I've embraced it," Goggins tells PEOPLE. "I am so right-sized about everything that has happened in my life and I've been doing this for such a long time that the people that like what I do, really like what I do. And that's been the truth for a really long time. And I like that they like what I do."
He adds, "I am out in the world in a very specific way… There is no artifice when it comes to presenting myself."

That's perhaps what makes the label feel so appropriate. Even as the attention surrounding him continues to reach new heights, Goggins says his "life doesn't change," noting, "I suppose that's what makes me a daddy for people — I'm somebody that's open, older and confident in who they are as a person."
Perhaps it's also because, as he puts it, a daddy "is someone who is older and someone who has ventured out into the world and is curious about the world and has kindness and adventure in their spirit and a little bit of swagger in their walk, based on that life experience" — all of which he exudes on-screen and off.
That energy is also what makes him perfect for the latest iteration of his ongoing partnership with GoDaddy, following his first-ever Super Bowl ad with the brand in 2025. As the star of the internet domain registry company's new campaign, "Daddy of Domains," the actor jokingly asks, "What makes a daddy?"
In the ad, he rattles off a few possible qualifiers: "a child," "the internet" or "maybe it's just being the very best at what you do."

"What matters is there's a daddy of everything," he continues, before shouting that GoDaddy is the "daddy of domains."
For Goggins, who teamed up with the company to debut his Walton Goggins Goggle Glasses business in 2024, the new ad "was meta on a number of levels." Self-aware about his fame and his career, he adds, "Based on what's happened in my life over the last year and a half and the microphone that I've been given — knowing that the microphone will be taken away at some point — you're lucky if you get to have a moment."
"This one happened to include daddy," the Justified star says, adding that "they're very smart people at GoDaddy, and it just happened organically. So we're leaning into the tongue in cheek of it all."

Of course, when you develop a fandom dubbed "Goggins Girlies," it would be a shame not to play into it.
When asked what it's like knowing he has his own dedicated stan group, Goggins recalls a conversation he had with Stephen Colbert at the GQ Men of the Year party in 2025, when the late-night host was on the cover of the magazine. "We were at this party and Stephen pulled me aside at one point and said, 'You have to know how much joy we are getting from seeing how much joy you derive from this experience. You are having fun and it's the best side of you. There is no ego. And everybody's rooting for you,' " the actor says, revealing that he took those comments "to heart."
"My life hasn't changed at all," Goggins says, "except the fact that I get to talk to even more really cool people, and it's lovely."
